May 24-28, 2004. A visit of Prof. Joop Schoonman, from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands to the CEPHOMA Centre. Prof. Schoonman gave a series of lectures on "Defect chemistry and solid state chemistry" for students and scientists involved in the area of transport phenomena in solids.

May 24-25, 2004: Meeting of the International Advisory Board of the CEPHOMA Centre.

April 19-23, 2004. The Centre was visited by Prof. Paolo Fornasini from Dept. Physics, University of Trento, Italy who gave two blocks of lectures on "An introduction to X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy" directed mainly to PhD students of physics and young scientists from Warsaw universities. Prof. Fornasini also presented his current research work on "Recent advances in EXAFS studies of thermal properties of solids" at the Faculty Seminar.

September 28-30, 2004. Co-organization of Vienna Impedance Exercises VIE-1 (in co-operation with Austrian E-CHEM Centre of Competence and Vienna University of Technology). This practice-oriented workshop for graduate students of European universities was aimed to master impedance spectroscopy techniques.
